Helianthus debilis subsp. tardiflorus

The late-flowering beach sunflower is a southeastern native perennial valued for its cheerful daisy-like yellow blooms and tolerance of coastal conditions. Plant in a partly shaded to full-sun location with average moisture, and deadhead spent flowers regularly to extend the blooming season. It is a great low-input plant for wildlife gardens and coastal landscapes in warm southern climates.
