Hooker's onion is a small, drought-adapted bulb native to western North America that thrives in well-drained to dry soils in full sun to part shade. Plant bulbs in fall and allow them to go dormant in summer — avoid supplemental watering once foliage begins to die back. Its cheerful rose-pink flower clusters in spring make it a lovely addition to rock gardens or native meadow plantings.
