Horse gram is a hardy legume that tolerates poor soils and warm, semi-arid conditions with minimal inputs. Water sparingly once established, as it is well-adapted to dry spells and can fix atmospheric nitrogen to improve soil fertility. It is best grown outdoors in full sun to partial shade in tropical or subtropical gardens.
