Japanese pieris

Japanese pieris is a slow-growing evergreen shrub prized for its cascading clusters of white or pink bell-shaped flowers in early spring and its colorful new foliage emerging in red or bronze. Plant it in well-draining, acidic soil in a sheltered spot with dappled shade to prevent leaf scorch. Water consistently during dry spells but avoid waterlogging, and apply an acidifying mulch annually to maintain healthy soil pH.
