Johnsongrass is an extremely vigorous, fast-growing perennial grass that spreads aggressively via rhizomes and seeds, making it notoriously difficult to control. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions. Regular mowing or herbicide treatment is necessary to prevent it from overtaking garden beds and neighbouring vegetation.
