Cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) is an extremely hardy annual grass that establishes rapidly in disturbed soils with minimal care. It is highly adaptable to poor, dry soils and requires little to no supplemental watering or fertilization. Note that this species is considered an invasive weed across much of North America and is generally not recommended for intentional planting.
