Lesser pondweed
Potamogeton pusillus
Lesser pondweed is a submerged aquatic plant ideal for wildlife ponds and water features where it provides oxygenation and habitat for invertebrates and fish. It requires clean, nutrient-balanced water with good light penetration and does not tolerate heavily polluted or turbid conditions. Best suited to naturalistic pond plantings rather than ornamental water gardens, as it has a subtle, fine-textured appearance.
