Lesser water-plantain is a delicate aquatic or semi-aquatic perennial best suited to the shallow margins of ponds, ditches, or consistently waterlogged bog gardens. It requires permanently wet conditions and will quickly decline if the soil dries out, so it is not suitable for typical garden beds. Plant it in a sunny to partially shaded spot at the water's edge where it will produce charming small pink or white flowers in summer.
