Liatris punctata var. punctata

Dotted blazing star is a resilient Great Plains native perennial with deep corms that store moisture, making it highly tolerant of dry summers once established. It produces dense spikes of rosy-purple flowers from late summer into fall that are irresistible to monarchs, bees, and other pollinators. Plant in full to partial sun with excellent drainage and avoid amendments or fertilizers that encourage weak, floppy stems.
