Linanthus pungens subsp. pungens

Prickly phlox is a western North American native perennial found across a wide range from California to British Columbia and into the Rockies, making it one of the more adaptable subspecies in the group. Plant in well-drained, sandy or rocky soil in a partially shaded spot and water regularly during the growing season. It works well in native plant gardens, xeriscape borders, and pollinator habitats where low-intervention planting is desired.
