Little bur-clover is a small annual-like perennial legume that fixes nitrogen in the soil, making it a useful green manure or cover crop in dry, disturbed areas. It produces tiny yellow flowers that attract bees and butterflies before setting small spiny seed pods. Very little maintenance is needed — simply sow in well-drained soil in a sunny spot and let it naturalize.
