Littleleaf leadtree is a tough, drought-adapted shrub or small tree that thrives in well-draining soils and full sun to part shade in hot, arid climates. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry between sessions, and avoid overwatering which can cause root rot. Once established it requires minimal attention, making it an excellent low-maintenance choice for xeriscape and native Southwest gardens.
