The Lizard orchid is a rare and challenging terrestrial orchid best suited for experienced growers with well-drained, alkaline, calcareous soils and full to partial sun. It forms a mycorrhizal relationship with soil fungi, making transplanting and container culture very difficult; it is best established from seed or specialist-grown plugs. Avoid overwatering and fertilising heavily, as this species thrives in nutrient-poor conditions mimicking its native chalk grassland habitat.
