Lupinus prunophilus

This Rocky Mountain native lupine produces tall spikes of blue to purple pea-like flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Plant it in well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil in a partially sunny location and avoid overwatering, as lupines dislike waterlogged roots. It is an excellent choice for native wildflower meadows or cottage garden borders at higher elevations.
