Many-stalked spike-rush
Eleocharis multicaulis
Many-stalked spike-rush is a slender aquatic or marginal perennial that thrives in shallow water or permanently waterlogged soils such as pond margins and boggy meadows. It forms dense tufts of fine, rush-like stems and is an excellent plant for stabilising pond edges and providing habitat for aquatic wildlife. Once established in the right wet conditions it requires virtually no care.
