Monk orchid
Oeceoclades maculata
Monk orchid is a terrestrial orchid with attractive mottled, dark-green leaves that make it an appealing foliage plant even when not in bloom. Grow it in a well-draining bark or orchid mix in bright, indirect light, and allow the medium to almost dry out between waterings to mimic its naturally semi-arid habitat. It is more forgiving than many orchids but appreciates warmth, humidity, and protection from cold drafts.
