Mountain melick is an elegant, clump-forming ornamental grass suited to shaded woodland gardens and naturalistic plantings, where it produces graceful nodding spikelets in late spring and early summer. It prefers moist, humus-rich soil under part to full shade and requires very little maintenance beyond cutting back old foliage in early spring. A superb choice for underplanting trees or filling shaded borders with soft textural interest.
