Mountain pine

Mountain pine is a hardy, slow-growing conifer native to the high-altitude mountains of central and southern Europe, valued for its wind resistance and tolerance of cold, rocky, and poor soils. Once established it needs virtually no supplemental watering or feeding, making it an excellent low-maintenance choice for exposed, challenging garden sites or rockeries. Its gnarled, shrubby form adds year-round structure and provides shelter for wildlife in ornamental and alpine garden settings.
