Nolina microcarpa

Bear grass (Nolina microcarpa) is a tough, ornamental desert perennial native to the American Southwest and northern Mexico, forming dramatic clumps of long, slender leaves. It thrives in well-drained, rocky or sandy soils with plenty of sun and very infrequent watering once established. An excellent low-water landscape plant, it is highly drought tolerant and virtually maintenance-free after the first season.
