Oenothera cespitosa subsp. crinita

The hairy tufted evening primrose is a compact, stemless native perennial producing large showy white flowers that emerge directly from a basal rosette close to the ground. It thrives in gravelly or sandy well-drained soils with minimal supplemental water once established. Best used in rock gardens or native plantings where drainage is excellent and summer heat is intense.
