Clematis ligusticifolia
Old-man's-beard is a vigorous native climbing vine that produces masses of small white flowers in summer followed by feathery, silvery seed heads that persist into winter. Provide a sturdy trellis, fence, or tree for support, and plant in well-drained soil with at least partial sun for best flowering. Prune back in late winter to control its spread and encourage fresh new growth.
