Pampas grass is a bold, fast-growing ornamental grass prized for its tall silvery-white plumes that emerge in late summer and persist through winter. Plant in full sun with plenty of space, as mature clumps can reach 8–10 feet wide; wear gloves when handling, as the leaf edges are razor-sharp. Be aware that it is considered invasive in many regions outside South America, so check local regulations before planting.
