Hot-rock penstemon is a rugged Pacific Northwest and Great Basin native that excels on dry rocky slopes, cliff faces, and well-drained borders in full sun to part shade. Once established it needs very little supplemental water and is highly resistant to drought. Its creamy white to pale lavender flowers attract native bees and hummingbirds throughout late spring and summer.
