Penstemon fruticosus var. serratus

This serrate-leaved variety of shrubby penstemon is a tough, low-maintenance native suited to well-drained soils in Pacific Northwest gardens. Provide at least partial sun and avoid clay-heavy or consistently moist soils to keep it healthy. Its purple tubular blooms are a reliable draw for hummingbirds and native bees each spring.
