Phlox diffusa subsp. scleranthifolia

This spreading phlox subspecies is a slow-growing alpine and subalpine native suited to well-drained, gravelly or rocky soils in the intermountain West. It prefers cool conditions and partial shade, particularly in hotter climates, and requires only moderate watering. A wonderful choice for rock gardens and native plant landscapes, it produces small, delicate white to pale pink flowers in late spring.
