Phoenician juniper is a slow-growing evergreen tree or large shrub native to the Mediterranean basin, valued for its dense, scale-like foliage and ornamental blue-black berry-like cones that attract birds. It thrives in full sun and extremely well-drained, rocky or sandy soils and is highly tolerant of heat, drought, and coastal winds once established. Virtually no pruning is required, making it an ideal low-maintenance specimen for dry or Mediterranean-style gardens.
