Phytolacca americana var. rigida

Rigid Pokeweed is a robust, fast-growing southeastern native perennial that dies back to a large taproot each winter and re-emerges vigorously in spring. It thrives in partially shaded to sunny spots with average moisture and requires little attention once established. Note that all parts of this plant are toxic to humans and pets, so site it carefully away from children and animals.
