Pigeonpea

Pigeonpea is a hardy, drought-tolerant shrub legume that grows best in full sun to partial shade with well-draining soil. It is largely self-sufficient once established, fixing nitrogen in the soil and requiring minimal fertilization. Commonly grown for its protein-rich seeds, it also serves as a living windbreak or cover crop in tropical and subtropical gardens.
