Dwarf sand cherry is a compact, spreading native shrub that produces a profusion of white flowers in spring, followed by small tart cherries relished by birds and wildlife. It adapts well to sandy, rocky, or poor soils and is an excellent low-maintenance choice for shoreline stabilization, native plantings, or cottage gardens. Light annual pruning after bloom helps keep growth dense and productive.
