Quince is a deciduous fruiting tree prized for its fragrant, golden-yellow fruit used in jams, jellies, and preserves, as well as for its ornamental spring blossoms. Plant in a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained, moderately fertile soil, and water regularly during the first few years to establish a strong root system. Annual pruning in late winter will help maintain an open canopy and encourage healthy fruiting.
