Rannoch-rush is a rare, specialist bog plant native to acidic, waterlogged peatlands across the Northern Hemisphere and is considered a conservation-significant species in many of its native ranges. It requires permanently saturated, nutrient-poor, acidic substrate such as sphagnum peat and is best grown in a dedicated bog garden or pond margin — it is not suited to typical garden or indoor conditions. This plant is best purchased for habitat restoration or highly specialised bog garden projects
