Rhizomnium punctatum, commonly known as dotted thyme-moss, is a delicate leafy moss best suited to cool, shaded, and consistently moist environments such as woodland gardens, terrariums, or bog gardens. It requires high humidity and should never be allowed to dry out completely. It grows well on soil, rocks, or rotting wood in shaded spots and is an excellent choice for naturalistic moss gardens.
