Ribes roezlii var. amictum

Sierra gooseberry variety amictum is a spiny native shrub from California and Nevada adapted to woodland edges and chaparral habitats. It prefers partial shade and well-drained soil, and once established tolerates occasional dry periods typical of its native range. Plant in a naturalistic or native garden setting and give it room to spread; minimal pruning is needed beyond removing dead wood.
