Rock buckwheat is a hardy native subshrub that excels in dry, rocky, or gravelly soils with good drainage and plenty of sun. It is extremely drought-tolerant once established and requires little to no supplemental watering in its native range. An excellent choice for xeriscape, rock gardens, and pollinator plantings in the intermountain West.
