Rock cotoneaster is a tough, spreading deciduous shrub prized for its herringbone branch pattern, delicate spring flowers, and vivid red berries that persist into winter for bird fodder. Minimal pruning is needed; simply remove dead wood in early spring to maintain its elegant, low-growing form.
