Rocky Mountain cowlily is an aquatic perennial that requires permanent submersion in a pond or water garden with at least 1–3 feet of still or slow-moving water. Plant rhizomes in heavy clay soil at the bottom of a pond and ensure at least 4 hours of dappled sunlight daily. This plant is best suited to outdoor water features in cooler climates and is not appropriate for indoor or container growing without a dedicated aquatic setup.
