Rootless duckweed
Wolffia arrhiza
Rootless duckweed is a tiny aquatic plant that floats freely on the surface of still or slow-moving water and requires no soil whatsoever. Place it in a container or pond with clean, nutrient-rich water and provide moderate to bright indirect light. It multiplies rapidly, so thin the colony regularly to prevent it from shading out other aquatic plants.
