Rudbeckia laciniata var. ampla

The western cutleaf coneflower is a robust Rocky Mountain native that adapts well to partly shaded garden sites from the high desert to mountain foothills. Keep soil consistently moist, watering weekly in warm weather, and apply mulch to conserve moisture in arid western climates. This tall, vigorous perennial produces bright yellow blooms that attract a wide variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
