Rum cherry

Black cherry is a fast-growing native North American tree prized for its fragrant white flower racemes in spring and clusters of small dark fruits that birds adore in late summer. It adapts to a wide range of soils and light conditions, though it performs best in well-drained, moderately fertile soil with at least six hours of sun. Note that leaves, bark, and seeds contain cyanogenic compounds and should be considered toxic if ingested in quantity.
