Russet sedge is a delicate alpine sedge that thrives in cool, moist, partially shaded conditions with well-drained, humus-rich soil. It is an excellent choice for naturalised woodland gardens or rock garden pockets where it provides fine-textured foliage interest. Little maintenance is required beyond removing dead leaves in early spring to tidy the plant.
