Sagebrush mariposa lily grows from a bulb and thrives in well-drained, sandy or gravelly soil with full sun to light shade. Water regularly during spring growth and flowering, then allow the bulb to dry out completely during summer dormancy. It is best suited for native and rock gardens in the western United States and does not tolerate heavy clay or consistently moist soil.
