Sea arrow-grass is a salt-tolerant, rush-like perennial naturally found in coastal salt marshes, tidal mudflats, and wet saline meadows, requiring consistently moist to wet, brackish or saline soil. It performs best in full sun and is an excellent choice for coastal rain gardens, salt marsh restoration projects, or wildlife habitat plantings. Note that all parts of this plant contain potentially toxic hydrocyanic compounds and it should not be planted where livestock have access.
