Shampoo ginger

Shampoo ginger prefers a warm, humid environment with partial shade and rich, consistently moist, well-draining soil. It dies back to the ground in cooler or dry seasons and re-sprouts vigorously in spring — protect rhizomes from frost if growing outside the tropics. The cone-like flower bracts produce a fragrant, soapy liquid that can actually be used as a natural hair conditioner.
