Sidalcea oregana subsp. eximia

This rare California subspecies of Oregon checker mallow grows best in partly shaded spots with consistently moist, well-drained soil. It is more site-specific than related subspecies, so replicating its native coastal habitat conditions will yield the best results. Plant in a wildlife or native garden where its delicate pink flowers can attract bees and butterflies all summer long.
