Silverleaf poplar
Populus alba
Silverleaf poplar is a fast-growing deciduous tree valued for its striking silver-white leaf undersides and dense, spreading canopy that provides excellent shade. Plant in full sun to partial shade in any well-drained soil; it is tolerant of pollution and urban conditions once established. Be aware that its aggressive root system and suckering habit make it unsuitable for small gardens or near buildings and pipes.
