Slender sedge
Carex lasiocarpa
Slender sedge is a graceful, fine-textured wetland perennial that thrives at the edges of ponds, bogs, and rain gardens where soil stays consistently wet. Plant it in full sun to part shade and never allow it to dry out, as it naturally grows in standing water or saturated soils across northern temperate regions. It requires very little maintenance once established and provides excellent cover and habitat for birds and aquatic invertebrates.
