Small white orchid
Pseudorchis albida
Small white orchid is a delicate terrestrial orchid native to alpine and sub-alpine meadows and is extremely challenging to cultivate outside its natural habitat. It requires free-draining, nutrient-poor, slightly alkaline soil with specific mycorrhizal fungi for survival, making it nearly impossible to grow in conventional gardens. This species is best appreciated in the wild and is protected in many of its native regions.
