Smooth brome is a cool-season ornamental and forage grass that grows readily in meadow, pasture, or naturalized garden settings. It performs best in open to partly shaded locations with moderately moist, well-drained soil. Once established it requires very little attention, making it ideal for low-maintenance landscapes and erosion control.
