Smooth heliotrope is a hardy, adaptable perennial that tolerates saline soils, coastal conditions, and disturbed sites with minimal care. It produces small, curling clusters of white to pale lavender flowers that attract pollinators from spring through fall. Plant in a sunny to partly shaded spot with well-drained soil and water moderately, as it copes well with periodic dryness once established.
