Smooth phlox
Phlox glaberrima
Smooth phlox is an upright, clump-forming native perennial that produces clusters of fragrant pink to lavender flowers in late spring and early summer. It thrives in partial shade to full sun with consistently moist, well-draining soil and is an excellent choice for woodland garden edges and pollinator borders. Divide clumps every 3-4 years to prevent overcrowding and promote healthy blooms.
